#Internetix 09 — Mayan Mathen — Video in Business:

Here’s the thing…
Wanna have a face-to-face meeting with several colleagues scattered around the world?
Set the meeting up in Outlook (or whatever calendar you use).
The backend system then allocates bandwidth and other resources, and sets everything in motion. You don’t have to do ANYTHING besides show up at your desk and video camera at the appointed time.
The technology is now starting to become ubiquitous and invisible.
In the past, techies had to set everything up. And even then, enormous bandwidth was consumed, affecting the network for other users.
With the backend handling all of that, nothing suffers noticeably. And the video conference becomes a virtual-presence.Made live at Internetix 09 using ArtRage 2.5 on my Rectron-sponsored Asus R1E tablet pc. For more details on my visual facilitation, go to royblumenthal.com/portfolio.
